Do you have the experience of being the parent, spouse/partner, sibling or other family member of an individual who has a mental illness?

Are you excited about the opportunity to help other other family members in your local community who are coping with similar experiences?

Would you like to be a volunteer for Maine's largest grassroots, mental health advocacy organization?  This is a chance to give back by helping provide this incredible course to other families in need.



Coming to Augusta March 10, 11 and 12, 2017

NAMI Family-to-Family is a 12-session educational program for family, significant others and friends of people living with a mental health challenge/illness.  It provides critical information and strategies for supporting the person you love as well as communication and problem solving skills, family advocacy, caring for yourself and other family members and much more!

Become a certified teacher in this national education program!

More teachers are needed so that this course can be offered on a more frequent  basis and in more locations in the state.  The curriculum is evidence-based and provides valuable tools to help families cope. NAMI Maine provides everything you need so that you feel confident and comfortable in co-teaching this national curriculum.  It is recommended that you've already taken the Family-to-Family course yourself before taking the Teacher Training, but not required.  The training is a lot of fun! 

Who can attend?

Family members who have a adult loved one who has a mental illness..

No experience is required!

 What is the cost?

This training is completely free

Most meals and snacks are provided to participants throughout the 3 day training.

Hotel accommodations for out-of-area participants may be available by request.
